Our Purpose

As industry veterans and business owners, we are committed to doing our part to further the representation of diverse groups in the business travel community. To progress and innovate for today’s challenges, we must tap into the talents of people across racial and ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ individuals, persons with disabilities, and other historically underrepresented groups.  We encourage these individuals to consider this mentorship opportunity.

The What and Why of Mentorship
Application Process and Time Commitment

Career growth is dependent on our networks, and access to mentors and leaders to guide us. We believe that one of the best ways to close the representation gap in the industry is by making an intentional investment in supporting individuals from underrepresented backgrounds.

Our mentorship program is designed to welcome approximately 10 individuals interested in furthering their business travel careers. We believe gaining holistic expertise in the travel ecosystem will build your knowledge base, offer fresh insights into each category, enhance your CV for future opportunities, and build new pathways for additional professional growth and development. Additionally, focused education can lead to career advancement, higher pay, and greater responsibilities.

The travel industry is known for the people you meet and work with, and they tend to be friends for life. There is a passion and energy — once you work in the industry you will feel it, too. There are many specialties and opportunities for learning and career growth — it truly has opportunities for everyone!

Over a period of eight weeks, each participant will have access to:

  • 8 coaching sessions, with tactical guidance

  • 8 collaborative learning sessions

  • 1-on-1 mentoring opportunities

  • Shadowing existing project consultants and attending client calls

  • Weekly group check-ins with GoldSpring Leadership

The goal of the mentoring program is to provide resources and best practices to propel emerging leaders into their next great role and on a pathway to the corner office. Through this process, we are also excited to learn from and build relationships with our mentees.

We welcome candidates from anywhere in the world. The ideal candidates will:

  • Belong to an underrepresented group in the business travel industry, including but not limited to communities of color, LGBTQIA+, immigrants, refugees, persons with disabilities, and more

  • Have a minimum of 5 years of work experience or 1–3 years of relevant business travel and meeting experience

  • Ability to think critically and be comfortable with team collaboration

  • Desire to deepen business travel knowledge holistically in all key areas (airlines, hotels, travel management companies, online booking tools, mobile applications, travel technology, payment systems, meetings & events, etc.)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Have the capacity to commit to 2-3 hours per week of mentorship for the entire 8 weeks

  • At the conclusion of the 8 weeks, interested participants will have the opportunity to remain connected with us for another 6 months

Any interested participants are asked to complete a short preliminary questionnaire (link here).  Applications close on September 23, 2022. Selected candidates will then join GoldSpring for a virtual interview. Selections will be finalized by October 7, 2022.
